Our new Parent's Forum at Ridgeway

What can I expect?

A friendly welcome! The meetings are held in an informal enviornment, where tea and coffee are available.  We have updates from Centre staff on what’s been happening and discuss any new issues.

There’s usually a selection of staff members available to answer any questions you may have.

Why have a Parent’s Forum?

The ideas that the parent’s forum discuss help our centre to develop activities that match parent’s actual needs and meet our targets.  Ridgeway Park Children Centre is keen to involve parents in the delivery of any of the projects we’re running.  Parents are at the core of our service and all parent’s views are welcomed and respected.

Will I have to attend Ridgeway Park Children Centre board meetings.

Not if you don’t want to! The views of the Parent’s Forum are shared with the Ridgeway Park Children Centre board by parent representatives.

Being in the Parent’s Forum doesn’t mean that you have to attend board meetings, you can be sure that your views will still be taken to the board but if you wish to become a parent board member then we can support you to do this.

What is a Parent’s Forum

A Parent’s Forum is a group of parents who get together to share their opinions and ideas about issues that affect them and their families.

Parents are encouraged to voice their opinions on the delivery of current activities, proposed future activities and any other relevant issues that may arise at the centre.

Who is the Forum for?

The forum is for Ridgeway Park Children Centre registered parents of children under the age of nineteen.  No experience is necessary to be involved, just enthusiasm and a commitment to approximately 2 hours every 3 months.

You will attend a termly update meeting and be encouraged to attend events as when you can.  Your role includes talking to other parents who use centre and get their feedback, advertise the Centre through fun days, leaflets, posters and consultation events.
