NVDA - a free, Open Source screen reader (External link)

With NVDA you can read web-sites, MS Word documents, emails and our .pdf files in synthetic speech.

This is an efficient tool, but we did need to adjust the default speed setting of the voice before using the software widely.

Ideal for our visitors who have some sight impairment.

We have tested this software in IE7 and Firefox/Mozilla. Runs on Windows operating sytem only.

It comes with the Accessible programs, letting you access news and audio on the Internet in a simple and accessible way, allowing you to use podcasts, listen to the radio and read RSS and news with your screen reader or other access solution.
